The new website is up and running and I couldn’t be more pleased. I know I will be constantly tweaking it but what a fun creative adventure it was!

It’s Alanis, of course, and a very famous hit –but today it sounded brand new to me. I saw her in concert last year and thought "great talent but why are all of her songs so angry?" So glad I re-discovered this one.
It’s impossible to explain how amazing it is to win a contest. I have never purchased a lottery ticket. I don’t fill out those name and address entries at the mall to win SUVs. I don’t do any online contests because I don’t want the spam…. but I really really really wanted a new BLUDOMAIN website.
So when they announced the "What would you trade for a new website?" contest I had to do something. If a photographer does nothing else with their money they should invest in a really fabulous website. I really believe it’s as important as using a good camera. I love my spotfolio website –it has served me well– but it was time for some FLASH! And music! You know, show business!! So I started looking around the house for something to trade. The dog? no way… Photographs? they’ve got plenty… Trophies? Well, I was fresh out of those, but my husband —now there is a man with trophies. One of which was not currently being displayed. A GOLD ALBUM, presented to him by the 80s hair band, SLAUGHTER. It was lurking, in fact, in our garage in a box marked "NEVER EVER THROW THIS AWAY" So I waited until he was in a really good mood and asked him for it… fully prepared to hear a NO. But, being the center of the universe for generosity and enthusiasm, he immediately agreed.
LO AND BEHOLD, after all 800 entries came in –we were in the final three (okay, here is where it starts feeling like reality TV –can you hear the clock ticking in the background??) And then my lovely friends and clients were called to action. I furiously sent out emails, begging encouraging them to vote. And we won!! So if you’ve been patient enough to read this whole long story, remember I haven’t won anything since the football pool in 1977 and that was only $25. Thanks for your votes and thanks for basking in the light with me… now I have to go work on the new site. STAY TUNED!
