I’ve always loved doing maternity portraits. It’s such a special time and I’m so happy to see more and more women celebrating the changes in their bodies. It helps when you have gorgeous skin and perfect curves like Rebecca and Korinne … 

Here are more beautiful doxies to kick off the DOG DAYS OF SUMMER. The first handsome character is GABE, and he’s in a foster home waiting for his perfect family. He could have been a movie star in his previous life because he definitely wasn’t afraid of the camera! And look how beautiful he is! I’ve fallen in love with dachshunds!! My sister and I surprised our Dad with a puppy a few years ago and he never stops talking his "Frankie" –they patrol the neighborhood, visit the boys down at the local firestation and never stop having fun together. Dad will be 80 this year and I give the dog a lot of credit for keeping him young. This year it was my turn to fall in love. We adopted Jamie from DFW Dachshund Rescue in April and he’s just completely stolen our hearts. He’s just a joy — and a good model, don’t you think? 

I’m a pet lover –fins, feathers, fur, you name it I will feed and nurture it. But lately I’ve become especially enamored with DACHSHUNDS. Due, in part, to my new best friend Jamie who has been seen all over town in places like WEENIECHIC.COM, the DFW DACHSHUND RESCUE,  and SOUTHERN VANITY MAGAZINE to name a few.  You other dogs out there reading this, don’t be jealous –it’s just his 15 minutes, you know?

Well, in honor of Jamie, I’ve decided to declare the month of August THE DOG DAYS OF SUMMER and offer a special gift for any of you who would like a portrait of your pet. I will contribute a box of 25 custom designed 5×7 cards using one of the images from your session, or a mounted 8×10 print (to you) –and a $25 donation to the DFW Dachshund Rescue organization for each session booked.  They are really good people doing important work saving dogs’ lives and they deserve our support. More fun in the park this last week… a big anniversary is around the corner for this family and how wonderful is it to gather those you love for portraits? Wonder where the time goes? Look at your family — if we’re smart, we invest ourselves in our relationships. It reminds me of one of my favorite quotes: "If you want to feel rich, look at all the things you have that money can’t buy…"
