Saving money on pet care

Our media is filled with images of pets rescued from hurricanes, from shelters and from the streets of every major city (especially here in the south) but a comment we often hear in the rescue world is "I can't afford to take my dog to the vet", or "my cat is sick and I don't know what to do." And one of the goals of a rescue group is to help people keep the pets they love. Budget is often a big consideration with senior citizens and families with small children. So we thought we would pass along this information to help everyone save. For example, did you know that buying a puppy from a puppy mill or backyard breeder is often MORE expensive that adoption from a good rescue group?  Most of these groups have spent hundreds of dollars on vet bills and vaccinations BEFORE they offer a pet up for adoption. That's money saved for the new owners.

The good rescue groups might charge a little more for the adoption fee, but you'll save money in the long run by avoiding unforeseen medical bills. CouponChief.com’s Savings Guide On Pet Care will give you a detailed look at how you can save money – and an animal's life – when you acquire your pet. It will also walk you through the many ways you can cut back on pet expenses without having to cut back on your pet’s well being.
